Six days earlier, Mahalaya morning at 4 AM. Dark streets glow with windows and radios. Sleepy Mitu holds untouched sandesh tray while Seema calmly sips chai.

Noisy Aunty taunts Mitu from her balcony while the market builds a Durga Puja pandal
Tumhari dukaan koi nahi jaanta! Pujo mein bhi makkhi maarogi!
Aunty, aaj Mahalaya hai... thoda shubh bolo na!

Sougan explains festival marketing timing to Mitu at a chai stall in an SEO comic story
Mahalaya 4 baje bajta hai, 10 baje nahi. Marketing bhi waisa hi!
Matlab mera 11 baje wala post... Dashami ke baad ka dhaak?

Sougan arrives holding kulhad chai and points at the radio on the stall shelf. Mitu looks amazed. A chalkboard hangs behind the stall showing the SEO path.

Sougan shows Seema festival keyword ideas on the Peplio Blog Idea Generator
Pujo mein sau mishti dukaan hain. Log hamein dhoondhenge kaise?
Wahi shabd likho jo log Google pe search karte hain.

Sougan sits at laptop showing the Peplio Blog Idea Generator with festival keyword ideas. Seema leans in with arms crossed. The smart question: how will strangers find us?

Mitu and Seema plan a Pujo Box offer on a wooden sign in the bakery kitchen
Naam rakhein... Maa Durga Mithai Mahotsav Super Deluxe Combo?
Pujo Box. Kam se kam log padh toh payenge.

Mitu and Seema stand beside a sample box of four sweets and a wooden sign. Mitu holds up a ridiculously long name card for the SEO offer.

Paanwala serves a dripping Rasgulla Paan and a customer makes a disgusted face
Unka Pujo Box? Mera Rasgulla Paan! Dono ka baap!
Bhaiya, yeh paan hai ya rasgulla ka accident?

Paanwala proudly serves a paan with a whole rasgulla stuffed inside, syrup dripping. The customer makes a disgusted face. Paanwala copies the idea. Badly.

Sougan tells Mitu to post at 6 AM on Mahalaya on the temple steps
Chandipath khatam, phone haath mein. Abhi post karo!
Durga Durga... post ho gaya!

At 6 AM right after Chandipath, everyone sits on temple steps scrolling phones. Sougan points at Mitu's phone. Mitu presses post with eyes shut. Right moment, right audience.

Poster ready, keywords ready. Ab Google ko bhi pata hai.

Mitu is shocked at 40 calls despite 14 likes in the vegetable market, an SEO comic story twist
Google pe 'Pujo mishti near me' dala, aapka naam aaya!
Likes sirf 14... par calls 40?? Yeh kaise??

Mitu sulks at a post with only 14 likes while the phone in her other hand buzzes nonstop. An elderly uncle calls her from nearby. The big twist arrives.

Seema and Sougan at a busy bakery counter as a Pujo queue forms outside
Matlab order likes se nahi, search se aata hai.
Bilkul. Likes taali hain, search wallet hai.

A queue forms outside the bakery. Seema holds a full order book while Sougan leans on the counter amazed. Searches brought orders, not likes.

Noisy Aunty spies on the bakery queue with binoculars while hiding her phone
Itni bheed? Zaroor free mein mithai baant rahe honge!
Aunty, aap phone pe kya chupa rahi ho?

Noisy Aunty spies on the bakery queue through binoculars from her balcony while hiding her phone behind her back. She's watching closely now.

Seema reads the 50-box order address in an SEO comic story as Mitu gasps
Pachaas boxes... address: Balcony wala ghar, Aunty ki gali.
Aunty ki gali?? Matlab... NAHI!

Back to Pujo eve night. Seema reads the delivery address on the giant order slip while Mitu's jaw drops completely. The mystery caller's identity emerges.

Noisy Aunty hugs Mitu beside 50 Pujo Boxes as Seema stays deadpan
Maine toh pehle din se kaha tha, yeh bakery chalegi!
Aunty, pehle din aapne makkhi maarne ki baat ki thi.

Noisy Aunty's living room is full of relatives and a tower of 50 Pujo Boxes stacked high. Aunty hugs Mitu dramatically while Seema stays deadpan watching.

Paanwala hangs his Pujo Dhamaka banner as the Dashami procession passes
PUJO DHAMAKA shuru! Aao aao!
Bhaiya, Pujo toh ja rahi hai. Ab Diwali ka banner lagao!

The Dashami immersion procession passes with dhaak and sindoor. Paanwala, on a ladder, is only now hanging his PUJO DHAMAKA banner. One week too late for success.

Mera dhunuchi dance?? Yeh kisne record kiya??
Mitu, ab poora India tumhe dhoondh raha hai.

Seema shows a phone reel of Mitu's accidental dhunuchi dance at the pandal with 1.2M views. Mitu is horrified and Sougan is amused. A TO BE CONTINUED sign hangs on wall.

What we learned today

  • Plan your festival offer before the festival starts
  • Post when your audience is already on their phones
  • Use the exact words people type into Google
  • Update Google with festival photos and hours
  • Likes are applause, searches bring orders
Sougan's TakeWhat this episode teaches, in plain words

Festival customers do not wait for you to post; they search, and they buy from whoever shows up first.

This SEO comic story teaches festival marketing for small business through a Durga Puja bakery tale. You learn to plan the offer before the festival, post at the right moment on Mahalaya, and use festival keywords people actually search.

This SEO comic story comes straight from my own Durgapur streets, where every Mahalaya the whole town wakes at 4 AM for Chandipath. I have watched sweet shops miss Pujo sales simply because they posted too late.

So I turned that lesson into a new SEO comic story. Read Episode 12 below, and if you are new, catch up on all Peplio comic episodes first.

Plan the Pujo Offer Before Mahalaya

In this SEO comic story, Mitu wanted to sell "sweets" with no plan. A festival buyer wants a clear offer: a named box, a fixed price, an order deadline and delivery. Decide this two weeks early, not on the festival morning. I write the dates into a simple calendar first, and I explain this fully in my guide on planning 30 days of content with ChatGPT. Check the real festival dates on the Durga Puja and Mahalaya pages so your launch date is never a guess.

SEO Comic Story Lesson: Use Festival Keywords

Seema asked the smart question: how will strangers find us among a hundred sweet shops? The answer is to write the exact words people type, like "durga puja sweets near me" or "pujo mishti home delivery". Sougan pulled these ideas from the Peplio Blog Idea Generator. Google itself advises using the words your customers use in its SEO Starter Guide. Learn the basics of keyword research, then put these words in your post, product name and photo details, as shown in Google's image best practices.

Post When the Whole Town Is Awake

Mahalaya plays at 4 AM because that is when Bengal is listening. Sougan's line in this SEO comic story is the whole rule: the right message at the wrong time is silence. After Chandipath ends, people stay on their phones, so Mitu posted at 6 AM, not 11 PM. Use the insights explained in the Instagram Help Center to find when your followers are active, and see what worked for me in my Instagram growth experiment. You can also check when festival searches peak on Google Trends.

Update Google Before the Festival Rush

The twist in this SEO comic story was 14 likes but 40 calls. The calls came from Google, not Instagram. Seema updated their Google Business Profile with Pujo photos, special hours and the words "Durga Puja sweets". Google's own Business Profile Help shows how to add special hours and posts. For local shops this is often cheaper than ads, and I explain why in my guide on SEO for small business in India. Likes are applause. Search is the wallet.

Living in Durgapur, I see it every year: shops put up Pujo banners on Shashthi, when most families have already booked their sweets. I learned the same lesson with my own content, where a post published after the search peak gets almost nothing. Now I plan festival content weeks ahead, just like Mitu's Pujo Box.

That is the end of this SEO comic story, but Mitu's Pujo fame is only getting started. Catch the next SEO comic story in Episode 13, where one accidental dhunuchi dance reel changes everything.
